Firefox web browser download

Welcome to Firefox Help, the online help resource for the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

Have a Specific Question?
Basic instructions for installing Firefox can be found in the release notes.

Once Firefox is up and running, the best place to start is the Firefox Help Menu. It can be accessed by using the menu in the top of the browser window, or by pressing the appropriate shortcut key. Browse by topic or enter a keyword related to your question to search for the information you're looking for.

For more advanced questions, try searching the Mozillazine Knowledge Base, or take advantage of one of the community support options described below.

Community Support
The Mozilla Community includes many developers and long-time Firefox users who are happy to help answer questions. There are several ways to tap into the community support resources.

Web Forums
New users are welcome to post questions at the Mozilla Firefox Support Forum hosted by Mozillazine. If you've searched the knowledge base, read the FASQ, and still can't find the answer to your question, click the ';[Create New Topic]'; link and fill out the form to pose your question to forum members.

Please be as specific as possible in your request: including information about your operating system and the Firefox build you are using (displayed in Help > About Mozilla Firefox) will help others to diagnose the problem and respond to your question more quickly.

Newsgroups
Use a newsgroup reader like Thunderbird or Outlook Express to post questions in the ';mozilla.support.firefox'; newsgroup, available on Mozilla's news server, or via the web, using Google Groups. It is also available as a mailing list. Please read the Mozilla Forum Etiquette page before posting.

Real Time Chat (IRC)
To access IRC, you'll need an IRC client: if you don't have one, you may want to install the Chatzilla extension for Firefox. Just click on ';Install,'; authorize the installation, and restart Firefox.

Once you have a client, you can talk to other users in real time by joining in the #firefox channel on mozilla.org's chat server. (If you're using Chatzilla, clicking the link above should open a prompt for an IRC nickname. Enter any nickname you'd like, and the IRC client will open in a new window. Simply type your question in the text field which appears next to your nickname at the bottom of the window, and wait for an answer ).
